Privilege Personified

If you want to see what privilege looks like, look no further than the  Instagram feed of Jess "I have a Pony named Mohave" Phoenix (although maybe not at work or with children present). Another over-educated, under-accomplished, Coloradoan running for congress, Jess Phoenix has led a privileged life wandering off to some of the world’s most hospitable climes in search of sunshine and science. Honestly I will go into more depth on Ms. Phoenix’s other inadequacies as a candidate, but before I do I want to plug her instagram feed again. She should never be a democratic nominee. Seriously. She won’t only lose her election, she’ll be a tool used by Republicans to help us lose other elections. In fact, the only thing with more awful cliches than her instagram feed are her TED talks which are so bad they make this look like the Gettysburg Address.

The daughter of two FBI agents, one is forced to wonder whether Ms. Phoenix’s entire career is just an overwrought revenge fantasy being exercised against them? Maybe that’s why she seems to be ever more intent to afflict herself on the world through speaking engagements and now, a congressional bid. Until now, she has been relatively benign, afflicting primarily those who seek out snowflakes and safe spaces, but as a nominee?

Jess, please go back to your rocks, your ponies, and your star-studded galas. You’re hurting the party, And by hurting the party, you’re hurting America. And the Planet.

You care about the planet, right?

So don’t hurt it. Drop out of the race.

Love,

The Planet
